Inside Out Weekend -Mebane

Inside Out is a huge volunteer weekend where we (the church) go out and blitz the county with work, building, supplies, and care. Here are a few shots just from Mebane. There was 248 volunteers in all. Mebane projects were, feeding the hungry by a food drive for Loaves and Fishes, working the community garden weeding and building benches, making cards for the prison, feeding the fire department, make over for an office in the shelter, and hospitality kick off. The kids had an awesome time with the BobCat!

My mom (Grandma) came to meet everyone at the strawberry fields at Lunsford. We celebrated Ashlee's birthday with her in the parking lot. One of Ashlee's favorites were bananas! A banana game with some real bananas for her banana splits she had at her sleep over.

Turned out to be a great deal. Stayed one night (you wouldn't know by how many pictures we took!) Had fun at the pool and hanging out in the room. All five of us :-) It was a little cozy but who care when you can see and hera the ocean right next to you!

We walked the trails, hung out in a bunker and the girls realized that the south lost many battles. The views were amazing and you could see all the way to Wilmington.

While we enjoyed whole awesome the view were, we had a flip flop casualty. It was a long drop but Brett didn't want to give up. Even after sending Sarah face first we just couldn't get it! Meanwhile, Ashlee and Anna enjoyed posing some more!

Sarah and Ashlee wanted to share some of the pictures Sarah took during the around the world week at school. Maybe one day we will actually visit some of these places! They had an International Dance at school and each did a special dance. (Ashlee did a jig from Ireland and Sarah did a dance from Brazil). Wish I had a camera that night!

Battle of the Books

Sarah took part in Battle of the Books competition. It started by reading all the books on the list and qualifying for the team. The South Mebane team came in 3rd place out of 20. It was great to see the kids working as a team and enjoying the reading process.

Ashlee received a CloveBud Ribbon participation for her project book on gardening at the 4-H Celebration Night! She had a good day since she passed her nines and tens times tables and was the only one to receive a 100 on her math quiz!
Sarah has more great accomplishments to add as well! She won All County for her project book on gardening and will compete for district next month! She also won runners up in two other categories, citizenship and service!:)

Sarah took part in the Times News Spelling Bee on February 12th. She earned one of 31 seats as the South Mebane school winner. She competed against 4,5,6,7,8th graders.
